Debi is an assistant vice president in the Health and Benefits Practice of Aon Consulting, and is Aon’s National Wellness Practice lead. Debi has 19 years of strategic, tactical and operational experience in the health management arena. She plays a key role in projects for large clients in the areas of integrated program strategy and design, market analysis, vendor selection, program implementation and evaluation, and vendor reporting. Debi also works closely with Aon’s mid-market clients and their approach to wellness and health management, as well as integrating wellness strategies and approaches into Aon’s overall health care approach.
Prior to joining Aon Consulting, Debi served as Vice President of Wellness for Matria Healthcare (now Alere), where she was instrumental in the sales and implementation phases for national clients. In this role, Debi formulated strategic health management plans and program designs (activities, incentives & communications) tailored to meet each clients needs. Debi also played a significant role in assisting with product enhancements, new employee training and with research, where she was published in the August 2008 edition of the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (JOEM), Incentives and Other Factors Associated With Employee Participation in Health Risk Assessments.
Debi began her career at HealthFirst, a biometric screening company, which is now owned by Principal Financial. Debi was the team lead and managed hundreds of biometric screenings for multiple clients, throughout her tenure. After graduate school, at Ball State University, where Debi received a 2-year, paid in full scholarship as a graduate assistant, Debi took a position with StayWell Health Management. Here she spent 2 years managing a comprehensive, on-site program for 8,000+ employees at a Chrysler plant and then was given a double promotion and moved to the corporate office, as a Sr. Program Manager. In this role, Debi developed, implemented and managed strategic programs for national clients, in additional to supporting the sales teams as a subject matter expert.
After Staywell, Debi spent time with Interfit Health and Health Media, in direct sales positions. She then was recruited to St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in Houston, as the Director of Wellness. Debi had direct responsibility for the St. Luke’s internal employee wellness program, the corporate wellness & biometric profit center, and for the management of a health promotion grant for the underserved of Houston.
Debi has worked closely with many large and mid-sized organizations regarding their wellness needs over the course of her career. In addition to the organizations mentioned above, others include Rockwell Collins, Turner Construction, Duracell Battery, Quaker Oats, Goodrich, State of Nebraska, Iowa DOT, McLeod Health System, BASF, H.E.B, and West Corporation.
Debi is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Community Health Education. Debi also holds a Master’s degree in Wellness Management with a concentration in Business Management from Ball State University.
